How We Personalize a Wedding Ceremony

The best ceremonies sound like you — how you speak, what you value, and what you want guests to feel when you say “I do.” That’s the process we use on every Forgotten Coast and Wisconsin ceremony we write.

This is officiant work: the words, the flow, the rehearsal. If you need someone to run the whole weekend, that’s a different job — and we’re happy to point you to a planner when you ask.

How the process works

1. Tell us the date, the town or venue, and the vibe (short and sweet, more story, traditional, secular, funny, or a mix).
2. We start with a working ceremony, not a locked script. We tweak, add, edit, and delete until it fits. You can also write your own for us to use.
3. Optional signature piece: the custom “Message to the Bride and Groom.” We ask a dozen simple questions. Some you answer together (where was your first date). Some you answer privately (first thought when you saw them; why you want to get married). We weave the answers into the ceremony so you hear each other’s private answers for the first time standing there.
4. We run the ceremony so it flows: who walks, who stands where, when the vows happen, when the kiss happens. On a Forgotten Coast beach we also place you out of the wind so the vows are heard.

What “custom” means here

It means the script is built around you — not that we arrive with an arbor, rose petals, and a photographer hour. We write the ceremony and file the license after. Chairs and draping come from a local rental if you want them.

There’s nothing we must include and nothing we can’t include. If an officiant tells you their script is mostly fixed except for names, that isn’t this process.

Vows
