You Had Me At I Do is a wedding officiant company. On Florida’s Forgotten Coast we write and perform the ceremony — beach, backyard, venue, elopement, last-minute, or vow renewal. We do not lead with full wedding planning or day-of coordination.
Florida ceremonies are officiated by owner Chris Truitt (26+ years as an officiant, 400+ ceremonies). Wisconsin is a separate service area with a separate team — start at the Wisconsin officiant hub if that is your wedding.
Call (850) 888-2165 or contact us with your date and town. Reviews from couples who already booked us are on our Reviews page, The Knot, and WeddingWire. We do not invent ratings here.
What the Florida officiant handles
Before the ceremony we help you choose a ceremony style, write the script (including our optional Message to the Bride and Groom questions), run the rehearsal if you want one, and walk destination couples through the Florida marriage license. After you say I do, we sign the license and return it to the issuing clerk. Chairs, florals, lodging, and vendor logistics are not the officiant job.
Need a planner/coordinator? Forgotten Coast Wedding Company is a related business (same owner) that handles destination-weekend planning and coordination on this coast. You Had Me At I Do stays the officiant.

Florida marriage license
Out-of-state couples can apply in any Florida county. Most Forgotten Coast weddings use Gulf, Franklin, or Bay County. Read Florida marriage license for a Forgotten Coast wedding — last verified against the county clerk sites, and not legal advice.
