• Who Breaks Down Your Tables to Make Room for the Dance Floor?

  • One of the easiest things to overlook when planning a wedding is venue logistics. Some venues come with a full compliment of staff while others provide nothing more than the physical space with no labor whatsoever.

One of the frequent issues we encounter is breaking down tables to make room for the dance floor. Does your venue provide staff for this, is this something your ‘day of’ coordinator handles, or do you need to round up some muscle to make it happen? Taking a few minutes to figure this out before the big day will eliminate a huge headache on the big day.

Generally speaking, hotels, conference centers, and some of the more modern reception venues have staff available to flip the room after the ceremony or break down tables after dinner to make room for dancing. Most of the barn venues and smaller reception venues do not, so you’ll need to assign a few guests to this task.

If you’re responsible for breaking down the tables yourselves, we highly recommend choosing a few people well in advance and letting them know that you’ll be needing their help. That way, when the time comes, they’ll be ready to jump in and make things happen for you.
