• Meet the Team

  • ChrisChris is the Owner of You Had Me At I Do and our parent company, Edge DJ Entertainment. He is a Wisconsin native and lives in the Madison area with his wife and three children. He is involved in several fraternal organizations and charities and also volunteers for several local church & civic organizations. He also serves as a Supervisor on the Town Board.

Chris never set out to become a Wedding Officiant. He started Edge DJ Entertainment in the early 2000s, providing mobile disk jockey services for dances, parties, and weddings as a 'side job' of sorts. For Chris, deejaying was a great way to have a ton of fun while making a few extra bucks. His 'side business' quickly grew from a hobby into a full-fledged, award winning mobile entertainment company employing up to a dozen people.

In the early 2010s, one of Chris' wedding DJ couples shared with him that they were having a very difficult time finding an Officiant to deliver the wacky, fun, personalized ceremony that they wanted. Neither their family minister nor the other Officiants they'd found were willing to cast tradition and standards aside to give the couple their perfect ceremony.

As far as Chris was concerned, this was absolutely unacceptable. He felt that no couple should ever have to settle for anything on their wedding day - especially their ceremony. A couple's wedding day should be absolutely perfect, exactly as they'd like it, no matter what "it" is.

After doing a bit of research, DJ Chris found a way to become Rev. Chris and gave the couple the ceremony of their dreams. It wasn't meant to be a career - only the fulfilling of one couple's request. A few of the guests in attendance loved the ceremony that Rev. Chris did, however, and asked him to be their Officiant. More guests at those weddings also wanted Rev. Chris to do theirs and it grew from there.

So many couples wished to have Rev. Chris officiate for them that he had to bring on an additional Officiant, Dave, just to help keep up with all the requests and all the new clients. Dave was hand picked by Chris because each he has that 'special something' it takes to be an incredible Officiant.

Chris still deejays weddings every weekend. Many couples request his services as both DJ and Officiant and he is happy to oblige. His goal is simple - to give his clients their perfect wedding day, whatever that may be.

As Chris says, "you've been dreaming of your wedding day your entire life. We'll make those dreams come true."

  • Dave BomkampDave didn't set out to become an Officiant. His son Bryan asked him to perform his wedding ceremony. Being new to Officiating, he reached out to his friend and You Had Me At I Do's owner Chris for help.

Beyond helping Dave become an Officiant for his son's wedding, Chris saw that Dave would be an incredible Officiant. Dave fell in love with the idea of Officiating, helping couples celebrate the biggest day of their lives. He is committed to giving his couples the ceremony of their dreams!

Chris asked him to become a permanent part of the You Had Me At I Do team and the rest is, as they say, history! Dave has been a much loved member of the team ever since.

Dave is involved in several Fraternal and community based organizations where he developed his public speaking skills.

His greatest love is helping kids with special needs by being a Zor Shriner, and driving kids to Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago as he is able.

Rev. Dave has been married to Tammy for 25 years and they have a son, Bryan. They reside in the suburbs of Madison. His 'real' job is working at a nationally known, steel building manufacturer for the past 19 years.

When he's not busy helping couples say 'I Do', Dave and and his wife Tammy like to golf and spend time at their Florida retreat as much as possible.

Together with Chris, Dave is ready to make your wedding absolutely perfect!
