• Designate a Personal Attendant

  • I don’t want to scare you, but unless you hire a wedding coordinator, you are going to have a gazillion things going on at the same time on your wedding day. Decorations, cake, caterer, wardrobe (and wardrobe emergencies), DJ, Officiant, venue staff – it’s way too much for you to take on when you’re also the bride or groom.

Enter the personal attendant! We all have that one friend – the planner and list-maker – who is always organized. That is the kind of person you’ll want as your attendant. Part coordinator, part runner, part planner, part counselor, and part nanny, your personal attendant will be the one ‘go to’ person for all of you and your vendors. That way you have someone else to handle all the little things that pop up. It takes the pressure off of the two of you and your parents.

It can be a thankless and stressful job, so you’ll want to make sure you take good care of your attendant. Make sure he or she is listed in the program, has a seat at the head table, and gets an incredible ‘thank you’ gift afterwards.
