• End your Reception at 11:00

  • Yes, you read that right. We’re recommending not booking us for as many hours as you probably think you need. The origin of the midnight end to a wedding reception is completely unknown. It’s also absolutely wrong.

Your guests will be good for about eight hours of wedding awesomeness. If your ceremony is at 3:00, they’ll pretty much be done by 11:00. The only people left on the floor after that will be those who have imbibed a bit too much and would dance to the theme song from Barney. Save yourself a few bucks, end at 11:00, and plan for transportation to a nearby bar.

Here’s another tip – don’t go to the bar with the remaining guests. You will have been going since 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning. By 11:00 at night, that’s a 14 or 15 hour day. Instead of joining, them, let them party by themselves. Instead, make your exit, head to your room, and decompress. It’s your wedding day! Spend time with each other before you’re completely exhausted. Your wedding day is the first day of your new lives together. Take some time at the end of the day to simply enjoy the moment and each other.
